Attorney General Eric Holder smoked marijuana in college. "Yeah, I certainly have said in my four, five, whatever number confirmation hearings I've had that you fill out the forms, that I had 'youthful experimentation' when I was in college," he tells HuffPo Live. "I think that was the phrase we were told to use."
He attended Columbia University from 1970 to 1973 and then Columbia Law School from 1973 to 1976. In his first year, Holder allegedly was part of a five-day occupation of the campus' ROTC headquarters. ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) recruitment centers on college campuses were often the target of anti-war protests in the '60s and '70s.
The AG has taken a hands-off approach to marijuana legalization in Colorado and Washington State. Perhaps his own personal use is why.
