Tonight's Puff, Pass & Paint event at the Adagio has been shut down by the Denver Police Department. "It wasn't 'private' enough," artist Heidi Keyes tells CelebStoner.
Similar to the problems the Classically Cannabis concert series initially had with the city, an event that allows marijuana smoking can't be open to the public in Denver.
"We need to do it by invite only and cannot advertise on Facebook," Keyes explains. "The events in my private home studio are not effected, and we are re-formatting the event at the Bud & Breakfast (Adagio) with the MaryJane Group in regards to being 100% legal. We'll have a new date for it soon." All tickets for the Adagio event will be refunded.
On their website, Puff, Pass & Paint is described thusly: "All paints, brushes, 11" x 14" canvas panel, and any other required art supplies are included in the cost of the class. Smoking, eating edibles, and other marijuana intake is allowed (and encouraged!), but certainly not required. BYOC, BYOB, wear clothes you aren't afraid to get paint on, and come prepared to smoke, paint, chat, indulge and probably laugh harder than you ever have before."
Keyes regularly hosts classes every Thursday night at her studio.
