The Vanity Fair article in question begins by insulting High Times and The Cannabist, then precedes to make numerous mistakes in its guide to getting high.
Here's my critique:
1. Choose saliva over indica: This is an arguable point. To each his or her own.
2. The weed should be strong: True.
3. Forget those silly glass pipes: This is an old-school point of view that makes little sense.
4. Avoid filters because they remove THC: False.
5. Forget bongs: Ridiculous.
6. Don't use grinders: Some people have been advocating against them lately, but they are a necessary convenience. Just try not to lose all the trichomes.
7. Chose your smoking companions well: That's a given.
8. Overdosing is impossible: True.
9. Portable vaporizers are easier to operate than desktop models: Not necessarily.
10. Eat marijuana with caution: Doh.
In his lead, Micah Nathan says High Times "suffers from a giggle-and-cough vibe" and The Cannabist "assumes too credulous a readership." Whatever, dude.
