Actor Patrick Dempsey wants to serves more than coffee at his Tully's shops. "You could present it in a beautiful, elegant way: a Michelin-starred coffee shop where you can get marijuana," he tells Bon Appetit.
Dempsey purchased the Seattle-based java chain in January for $9 million. There are currently 47 stores.
"Coffee is good for your mind," he explains. "It's basically a legalized drug. The next step is selling marijuana, of course."
Washington State legalized marijuana in November.
Dempsey starred as Dr. Derek Shepherd (a.k.a. Dr. McDreamy) in Grey's Anatomy. He's also appeared in such movies as Enchanted, Sweet Home Alabama and Can't Buy Me Love.
