Lowell's favorite literary son Jack Kerouac is being commemorated tomorrow with a bobble head promotion at the Spinners minor league baseball game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a replica of Kerouac wearing his Lowell High School football uniform.
Last year the team gave away, courtesy of the UMass-Lowell English Department and the Kerouac Estate, a bobble head of the Beat Generation writer hitchhiking.
The game vs. the Brooklyn Cyclones starts at 7 pm; it takes place at LeLachuer Park. Both teams play in the New York-Penn League.
In other Kerouac news, Walter Salles' film adaptation of On the Road starring Sam Riley, Garret Hedlund and Kristen Stewart will be available exclusively on iTunes starting July 30.
