At a Town Hall meeting in Tucson on Thursday, Sen. John McCain responded to a cannabis question with this surprising answer: "Maybe we should legalize. We're certainly moving that way as far as marijuana is concerned. I respect the will of the people."
Most of the meeting focused on McCain's support for intervening in Syria. The Arizona Daily Star called the event both "tumultuous" and "rowdy."
The longtime Republican Senator from Arizona lost his bid for the White House to Barack Obama in 2008.
