• Bill de Blasio won the Democratic primary, becoming the likely next mayor of New York. Potheads and minorities of all colors cheered!
• In New Jersey, Gov. Christie signed into law a bill that increases the number of marijuana strains that are allowed to be grown and sold to patients, and also allows the sale of edible products to children (but not adults).
• Marijuana arrests continued to decline nationally, down 1% from 2011. There were 749,825 arrests for marijuana possession, sales and growing in 2012.
