New York has a way of bringing out the crazy in people. How else else to explain Shia LaBeouf's bizarre antics on Thursday when he first chased a homeless man in Times Square and then was evicted from a Broadway show and arrested?

The hot-headed actor attended a performance of Cabaret, where he allegedlylit up either a cigarette or a joint, heckled and slapped Alan Cumming's butt when he went into the audience. During the intermission, police escorted LaBeouf out of the theater.

LaBeaouf, who's 28, allegedly cursed and spit at the cops, who took him to the Midtown South Precinct, where he spent the night. He was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment. The next day he was released with having to pay bail.

LaBeouf's strange day began at Iguana, a bar on 54 St, where he drank margaritas while watching a World Cup match. He next walked a few blocks south where he encountered a homeless man eating out of a McDonald's bag. LaBeouf reportedly wanted the bag and chased the man around for it.

Later, he went back uptown to 54 St. for the performance of Cabaret when all hell broke loose.

This was not the first time LaBeouf has been arrested. Here's his rap sheet:

• Feb. 2005: Arrested in Los Angeles for driving his car into a neighbor's car and waving a knife at him; charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

• Nov. 2007: Arrested in Chicago for refusing to leave a Walgreen's; charged with criminal trespassing (dismissed in Dec. 2007).

• Mar. 2008: Arrest warrant issued in Burbank when he failed to appear for an unlawful smoking ticket (paid $500 fine).

• July 2008: After a car accident in Los Angeles, arrested for DUI when he refused to take a Breathalyzer test. He suffered an injury to his left hand during the accident. The LA Sheriffs Department decided he was not at fault.

• Feb. 2011: Police took him in after an altercation in a Sherman Oaks bar, but wasn't arrested.

• June 2014: Arrested on three charges after he was smoking and heckling at a performance of Cabaret in New York.

LaBeouf most recently appeared in The Company You Keep, Nymphomanic and Charlie Countryman.
