Longtime druggie Keith Richards is sober these days, except for "an early morning joint," he tells the UK music mag, MOJO. "Strictly Californian.”

I smoke regularly," he explains. "One of the most pleasant things to watch is a map of America, where it goes, green... green... green. Whether it’s a good thing in the long run, I don’t know.”

In another interview, with the Daily News, Richards calls marijuana "just a lift. It gives you a slightly different perception of your surroundings"...

'To me, pot is just fun. And I’m glad to see the rest of the country is coming around to my way of seeing things.'

In addition, he tells Billboard:

'I love my pot. Love my weed. Unashamedly a fan. A good piece of hash now and then. But otherwise...'

In the same interview, he says: “The Grateful Dead is where everybody got it wrong. Just poodling about for hours and hours. Jerry Garcia, boring shit, man. Sorry, Jerry.”

Richards' third-ever solo album, Crosseyed Heart, was released on Sept 18. Listen to "Trouble" below.

Also, on that day, Netflix premiered Keith Richards: Under the Influence, Morgan Neville's documentary about the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist. Read Matt Chelsea's review here.
