There were 20 celebrity drug arrests, up from 8 in 2015 (an increase of 60%). The arrestees were:
• Geronimo Allison: 9/4; Packers WR charged with marijuana possession after traffic stop for speeding in Francis Creek, WI.
• Josh Huff: 11/1; Philadelphia; Eagles WR charged with marijuana and gun possession and speeding during traffic stop on the Walt Whitman Bridge; released by Eagles on 11/3.
• Laurence "Hootie" Jones: 5/17; Monroe, LA; arrested with Cam Robinson (see below).
• Montana Millz (Michael Persaud): 10/31; Lebanon, PA; Rhode Island rapper charged with possession of heroin and intent to deliver; being held at Lebanon County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.
• Twista (Carl Mitchell): 3/13; Portage, IN; rapper arrested during traffic stop, charged with marijuana possession; bailed out for $500; known for the hit song, "Slow Jamz."
• Jonathan Newsome: 2/17; Zionsville, IN; Colts LB charged with two counts of marijuana possession; police answered a noise complaint; released by Indianapolis on 2/2.
• Travis Outlaw: 7/15; indicted for felony possession of more than 250 grams (nearly nine oz.) of marijuana in Starkville, MS; turned himself in on Aug. 9; released from Oktibbeha County Jail on $10,000 bond; has played for numerous NBA teams, is currently a free agent.
• Joseph Randle: 2/21; Wichita, Kansas; former Dallas Cowboy arrested for possession of hallucinogens/marijuana; also charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage to property (allegedly hit three people with his car); taken to Sedgwick County jail on $100,000 bond.
• Max Redfield: 8/19; Rochester, IN; Notre Dame safety arrested for marijuana possession with four other players (Dexter Williams, Kevin Stepherson Jr., Ashton White and Te'Von Coney) during traffic stop; Redfield, Williams and Stepherson also charged with gun possession; Redfield released by team on 8/21.
• Rocco Ritchie: 9/28; North London, England; Madonna and Guy Ritchie's 16-year-old-son arrested for marijuana possession.
• Cam Robinson: 5/17; Monroe, LA; star offensive tackle at Alabama; arrested in car in parking lot; police smelled marijuana; search produced a bag of marijuana and two guns; charged with misdemeanor possession of narcotics and felony illegal possession of stolen firearms; released on $5,750 bond; arrested with teammate, defensive back Laurence "Hootie" Jones, who was charged with misdemeanor possession and released on $3,250 bond.
• Austin "Chumlee" Russell: 3/9; Las Vegas, NV; star of reality-TV show Pawn Stars arrested on 20 counts of drug and gun possession, including marijuana, meth, paraphernalia, 12 guns and ammunition; on 5/23, pled guilty to one count of drug possession and sentenced to three years' probation.
• Troy Smith: 4/3; Westerville, OH; arrested during traffic stop, charged with OVI (operating a vehicle while impaired) and marijuana possession; pleaded not guilty on 4/6; won the Heisman Trophy in 2006 while playing QB at Ohio State; played for the 49ers and the Canadian Football League; retired in 2014.
• Jaelen Strong: 2/28; Scottsdale, AZ; Texans WR arrested during traffic stop, charged with marijuana possession and taken to Scottsdale City Jail; Packers CD Damarius Randall also in the car, but not arrested.
• Chad Williams: 5/16; Baton Rouge, LA; Grambling WR arrested on separate charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm with drugs, being a fugitive from justice and having an outstanding bench warrant; stopped on LSU campus while in a parked car with two others; booked and released same day on $5,000 bail; led Grambling receivers with 62 receptions, 1,012 yards and 10 TDs in 2015.
• Nazir Williams: 10/19; Storrs, CT; UConn LB arrested on marijuana, gun and alcohol possession charges after traffic stop; suspended by team.
