It was a big night for Atlanta at the 2017 Golden Globes. The FX series won awards for Best TV
Series, Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy (series creator Donald Glover). Keith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry play weed dealers on the show.
Another big winner was Zootopia (Best Motion Picture, Animated), which features Tommy Chong as the voice for the character Yax.
Among the losers were Top CelebStoners Jonah Hill and Jeff Bridges. Both were nominated in Best Actor movie categories: Hill for War Dogs (Comedy) and Bridges for Hell or High Water (Drama).
Hill, who got his start in stoner flicks like Superbad and Knocked Up, has established himself as a mainstream actor. He also has two Oscars noms were for supporting roles in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and Moneyball (2011), and received a Golden Glove nom for Moneyball.
Other fave nominees Rachel Bloom (Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Winona Ryder (Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Show, Drama for Stranger Things) both lost.
The biggest 2017 Golden Globes winners were Moonlight (Best Motion Picture, Drama) and La La Land, which took seven awards including Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. The awards were given out on Jan. 8 on CBS, with late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon hosting and QuestLove DJ'ing. Check out all the winners and nominees here.
