The lawyer sitting next to indicted Rudolph Giuliani associate Lev Parnas in the recent TV interviews exposing Parnas' role in the Ukraine scandal that has led to President Trump's impeachment is none other than New York cannabis attorney Joseph A. Bondy.

"That's our Joe," Amanda Reyes texted after seeing him on TV. Reyes and Bondy are board members of the Cannabis Cultural Assocation, which advocates for people of color. Reyes is the group's board president and Bondy is their vice presidnet.

At his website, Bondy is described as "a criminal defense and cannabis business attorney in private practice in New York [who] defends all types of criminal cases, from initial arrest through grand jury investigation, pre-trial discovery and motions, trial, sentencing and appeals, in both the federal and state courts, and represents a number of companies in the cannabis and industrial hemp industry on a variety of corporate and securities law matters. [He] is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York, the District District of Connecticut, the United States Court of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States."

A graduate of Columbia University and Brooklyn Law School, he's one of several attorneys who filed a lawsuit against the Justice Department over the prohibition of marijuana in 2017.

Bondy's specialties include "defense of complex criminal cases, from pre-arrest, to trial, sentencing, appeals and civil rights litigation."

Right now, Bondy is specialiizing in being a thorn in the side of the Trump administration and the Republican Party effort's to dismiss the impeachment trail that is expected to begin in the Senate next week.

Bondy orchestrated the release of Parnas' documents that show his involvement with Giuliani and Trump in trying to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and ousting former U.S. Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.

He's been trolling Trump on Twitter for months, posting photos of Parnas with Trump, his family and White House officials as well. Democrats now want to call Parnas as a witness at the impeachement trial. Bondy has been pushing the #LetLevSpeak hashtag. Parnas clearly knows a lot.

Parnas and his partner Igor Fruman were also indicted for their involvement in a scheme to win valuable marijuana licenses in Nevada.

Bondy was recently voted on to the NORML board of directors, joining Rick Steves, Keith Stroup and 14 others.
