Just 14 months after closing up her Whoopi & Maya brand, Whoopi Goldberg is back with another cannabis company, this time named for her mother and brother, Emma & Clyde.
Described in the press release as an "elevated and socially conscious product line" featuring a "range of edibles, pre-rolls, flower and accessories for medical and recreational consumers," Emma & Clyde items will start hitting shelves in legal states soon.
Her prior cannabis line did not include flower and mostly focused on products for women.
On May 19, Emma & Clyde announced a licensing agreement with The Hub Craft in Massachusetts. “I'm thrilled to be working with The Hub Craft and see the great response from the Massachusetts dispensaries about this collaboration with The Hub Craft," Goldberg stated.
In addition to Emma & Clyde, Goldberg is lending her support to the launch of Black Cannabis magazine. She's featured on the inaugural cover.
“It’s an honor to grace the very first cover of Black Cannabis magazine," she said. "As a long-time cannabis advocate and entrepreneur, I’m happy to support the launch of a new publication focused on starting conversations and covering issues that educate, entertain and inspire people of color in the cannabis community.”
Publisher Hazey Taughtme added:
"I founded Black Cannabis magazine as a must-read cultural hub and content mecca highlighting Black excellence in cannabis... I believe that legal marijuana can and will change the economic trajectory for people of color. Black Cannabis magazine is on a mission to shed light on the positive impact of legal marijuana on the global marketplace and the role people of color are playing to educate, advocate and help rewire long-outdated beliefs and social mores surrounding this plant."
