Real Time host and Top CelebStoner Bill Maher had been diagnosed with Covid-19.
He missed a taping of Real Time for the first time since the show began on HBO in 2003. Real Time is curently in its 19th season. Prior to that Maher was featured on Politically Correct on ABC. He never missed a show there either.
Maher tweeted on May 13:
"Thanks to all wishing me get well - hard to do since I feel perfectly fine, but I appreciate it!. Most upset about ending my streak going back to 1993 of never missing a Politically Incorrect or Real Time episode. Oh well, even Cal Ripken had to sit one out at some point."

Maher wrestled with how to handle Covid in 2020, often questioning masking and social distancing. At times, he appeared to think the country was overreacting to the infectious spread. On Real Time last June, Maher called stay-at-home orders and forced closures a "reckless experiment."
