Bob Marley and marijuana is an enduring combination. But Marley and mushrooms?
“When Bob and I were young we followed a strict, natural diet and we would include medicinal mushrooms," his wife Rita said in March when a partnership between Marley Merchandising LLC and Silo Wellness was announced. "Mushrooms fit with our vision of a world transformed for good through natural products.”
With that in mind, on June 24, Silo launched Marley One, what it calls the "first global functional and psychedelic mushroom consumer brand." The initial tincture product line comes in five flavors: berry, coffee, mango, peppermint and vanilla. Each one has a different purpose and ingredients. For instance the coffee flavor, called One Mind, includes "lion’s mane and gingko biloba designed to improve focus and cognitive function."

“These are transformative times in which we are living," Bob and Rita's daughter and Melody Maker Cedella Marley added. "Our family seeks to use our platform to help facilitate positive change. Mushrooms have been used for centuries, and we believe they offer a natural pathway for healing and positivity... It’s our wish that these products will empower people to experience oneness with nature and the universe at large, and ultimately achieve greater self-actualization.”
Based in Toronto, Silo Wellness is publicly traded on the Canadian Stock Exchange (SILO) and the OTC market (SILFF). In addition to developing mushroom products, the company conducts psilocybin and ketamine wellness retreats in Oregon and Jamaica. Marley One products will be available in Jamaica later this year.
The Marley family also recently said it would soon begin opening Marley Natural dispensaries in Jamaica, starting with one at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston. The family has Marley Natural cannabis products available in many legal U.S. states.
