Green Thumb Industries Announces Cannabis Music Festival in Illinois

The Miracle in Mundelein, Sept. 9-10

Dayglo Presents and Sacred Rose Festival, two concert promoters, are teaming up with Illinois-based multi-state operator Green Thumb Industries (GTI) on what they're calling "an unprecedented cannabis and outdoor concert experience," scheduled for Sept. 9-10 in Mundelein, IL.

The Miracle in Mundelein will take place in the Chicago suburb where GTI's flagship RISE dispensary is located at 1325 Armour Blvd.

The lineup is as follows:

• Sept. 9: Cypress Hill, Action Bronson, Stephen Marley, DJ Papa G

• Sept. 10: Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Lettuce, Karina Rykman, Mitch Please

"We're looking forward to seeing what we can do in an environment combining music and cannabis," Dayglo's Peter Shapiro tells CelebStoner.

The festival was GTI founder, chair person and CEO Ben Kovler's idea, Shapiro confides. "I've known Ben for 20 years. He came to Lock'n and Fare Thee Well," both events run by Shapiro. "He's a music lover and a kindred spirit."

Kovler adds in a press release“It's no surprise there is a rich and deep history between music and cannabis. We believe the two together can create more connectivity, positivity and well-being. The Miracle is our way of celebrating this unique intersection with amazing music, high-quality weed and a welcoming community. We're excited to put on an incredible show while providing a safe, legal space for cannabis consumption for everyone 21 and over.”

Peter Shapiro: "We're testing the waters."

Consumption will be allowed on-site and the RISE store will function as the event's official cannabis provider outside the concert gates. Jambands notes: "Beyond the stellar music programming, The Miracle In Mundelein will provide attendees with unique non-music experiences, including a dab bar, a cannabis beverage garden, joint rolling stations, chilled bongs and more."

Sacred Rose founder Michael Berg, an Illinois native, says he's thrilled to be involved with the event: "Growing up and attending high school only one town over and seeing how far things have evolved over the past three decades, truly is a miracle that has led to us being able to create such a unique and first-of-its-kind concert. Our extended team has worked closely with the village of Mundelein to ensure The Miracle is equal parts safe and fun for all attendees to celebrate the culture with performances from artists who align with the lifestyle.”

Shapiro concludes, "We're testing the waters. We dove in with who we felt were the right partners. We're in."
