Former TV news anchor Connie Chung has a cannabis strain named after her.
“I’m easy to grow,” she told TODAY hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hota Kolb on Sept. 16. “I create a lovely flower and one of my favorite parts is that I’m low-maintenance. I find that very admirable, although I don’t think Maury would agree that I’m low-maintenance.”
She was referring to her husband to Maury Povich.
Chung is currently making the rounds pomoting her memoir, Connie.
She recently learned from her niece about the namesake strain.
AP reports: "Ever the journalist, [Chung] dove into research, finding a pack of five pre-rolled joints available online for $22."
"Did you bring any?" Guthrie asked.
"No, you can get it online," Chong replied.

Chung says she hasn’t "smoked marijuana since college." Born in Washington, DC in 1946, Chung attended the University of Maryland from 1966-1969. She went on to anchor the NBC Nightly News from 1983-1989 and the CBS Evening News from 1989-1995.
