Public Enemy sidekick Flavor Flav was pulled over for speeding in Hempstead, New York this morning. Police arrested him for aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony. He also had marijuana in his possession, but was not charged.
The incident took place at 9:30 am on the Meadowbrook Parkway on Long Island, which is due east of New York City. He was clocked at 79 mph. Flav (nee William Drayton, Jr.) had 16 suspensions on his license.
He was racing to get to his mother's funeral on time. Police released him after the arrest.
The clock-wearing hip-hop icon has appeared on a number of television shows, including Flavor of Love, The Surreal Life and I Love New York.
Flav was arrested for marijuana and cocaine possession in 1993.
