Stony rapper Wiz Khalifa was stopped by TSA at El Paso International Airport and arrested for marijuana on May 25. When he didn't provide ID, he was searched. Texas police found a metal container with a half a gram of weed in it and charged him with possession of less than two ounces.
Khalifa (nee Cameron Thomaz) was booked and released at El Paso County Detention Facility. His bond was $300. The "Black and Yellow" rapper performed the night before at the Neon Desert Music Festival in El Paso.
Update: On Aug. 6, when Khalifa failed to show up for a scheduled morning appearance at the El Paso County Courthouse, Judge Ricardo Herrera issued a arrest warrant. That night, the rapper was the musical guest on The Tonight Show.
In Texas, possession of less than two ounces is a misdemeanor punishable by maximums of 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
Khalifa was previously busted for marijuana in 2010 in Greenville, North Carolina, and then twice more in Nashville and Winston-Salem in 2012.
