Ten-time Grammy nominee Jamey Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of between half an ounce and 10 ounces of marijuana with intent to manufacture, deliver or sell on Nov. 17 after a traffic stop for speeding (he was clocked at 87 in a 70 mph zone) in Tennessee. It's a Class E felony.

Johnson's vehicle was pulled over in Williamson Country, which is 20 miles south of Nashville. Several bags of cannabis and pre-rolls were found during a search of the vehicle.

If convicted, Johnson would face a potential 1-6 year sentence and $5,000 fine. Marijuana is only legal to use as CBD in Tennessee.

Three of Johnson's albums have been nominated for Grammys: The Lonsome Song (2008), The Guitar Song (2010) and Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochrane (2012). He recently released his first album in 12 years, Midnight Gasoline. The country singer had a crossover hit with "In Color" in 2008.

An associate of Willie Nelson, Johnson has teamed up with him on "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die," "Hero," "The Highwaymen," "The Git Go" and "Gotta Serve Somebody," and performed a version of "Georgia on My Mind" at Nelson's 90th Birthday Celebration in 2023.
