Randy Credico says he was at a party in 2005 where current New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman snorted cocaine. A stand-up comic, Credico emceed the party in question at the now-defunct Siberia. He recently ran for governor as an independent (and lost).
Credico: 'Schneiderman was there, and everybody was using like a bump or two bumps of cocaine. We were all snorting there, everyone was in the back room using white powder."
Schneiderman's spokesman Peter Adjemian admits that "the attorney general and Mr. Credico crossed paths a number of times during 2005, when they were both supporting (Manhattan) District Attorney (Robert) Morgenthau’s re-election campaign, and Mr. Credico performed stand-up comedy at the attorney general’s 50th birthday party. But what’s truly laughable - and absolutely, unequivocally false - is the notion that these two individuals ever did drugs together.’’
In a statement released to the Village Voice, Adjemian added: "Eric has not done any illegal drugs in more than 30 years."
During the 2010 AG race, Schneiderman's rep revealed, "Like many others who grew up in the late '60's and early '70s, Eric regrettably experimented with drugs when he was younger." The drugs were marijuana and cocaine.
Schneiderman is opposed by Republican challenger John Cahill in the current AG race.
