Thousands of Brazilians protested the country's marijuana laws during a large march in Sao Paulo on Saturday. "Legalize, Dilma," they chanted, exhorting Pres. Rousseff to act.
“Brazil is very late," march organizer Carol Ribeiro commented. "In many countries, marijuana use is allowed, but here we have these reactionary policies."
According to Wikipedia, marijuana is "illegal, but mostly tolerated" in Brazil. "The possession of any drug in Brazil, for personal consumption, entails a warning, community service and education on the effects of drug use."
