Gov. Sandoval signed legislation Wednesday that orders Nevada to regulate medical-marijuana centers. MMJ passed in Nevada in 2000, but dispensaries have been illegal, until now.
SB 374 sets the state's pot tax at a reasonable 4%.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, "Lawmakers crafted the legislation largely after the Arizona model. Several members of the Senate Judiciary Committee travelled to Arizona during the session to get a better sense of what Nevada's law should look like."
Dispensaries are regulated in AZ. Nevada is one of 19 states with medical marijuana laws on the books.
