2. Colorado and Washington Prepare for Recreational Marijuana Sales
Ever since voting to legalize recreational use and sale of marijuana in 2012, Colorado and Washington spent the year deciding how to implement the new laws. Colorado will be the first to open stores on Jan. 1, with Washington following closely behind. How much are people willing to pay for legal pot? With taxes as high as 25%, we'll have to wait and see if and when the black market will fade away.
