6. NFL Continued to Suspend Players for Pot
While former players call for the NFL to loosen up its rules about marijuana – especially for medical use – the league issued a record number of player suspensions for violating the league's Substances of Abuse policy. Nineteen players began the 2015 season with drug suspensions, mostly for marijuana. Since then, six more players have been docked games, several for an entire season. Meanwhile, former All-Pro Kyle Turley contended that "cannabis will save football."
