At last night's Democratic candidates' debate, Bernie Sanders made the only reference to marijuana, and it was a powerful one. Regarding the investment banking firm, Goldman Sachs, he said:
'I find it very strange that a major financial institution that pays $5 billion in fines for breaking the law and not one of their executives is prosecuted while kids who smoke marijuana get a jail sentence.'
Sanders has sponsored a Senate bill that would remove cannabis from the Controlled Substance Act, essentially legalizing its use. Hillary Clinton has proposed rescheduling it.
Tommy Chong recently endorsed the Vermont Senator for president. "Bernie is for the people. Bernie is ready," the legendary stoner comic raved. "He's the OG Kush that's at the top of the harvest."
Willie Nelson has yet to say who he favors, Sanders or Clinton.
