There are hundreds of events scheduled for 4/20 Week from April 16-21. Here are our Top Ten, in descending order:
10. SweetWater 420 Fest
Date: 4/20-21
Location: Pullman Yards, Atlanta, GA
Headliners: Gov't Mule, Grace Potter, Trombone Shorty
Atlanta's top 4/20 event presented by SweetWater Brewing Company fell on hard times during Covid. For this year, they booked acts like Beck, Black Pumas amd Slightly Stoopid but then canceled them due to poor tickets sales and made it a free show.
9. Unity Day of Action
Date: 4/18
Location: The Capitol, Washington, DC
Organized by the Last Prisoner Project and supported by many anti-drug war orgs, the event is described as an effort to "put pressure on Congress and the President to fully legalize cannabis and provide retroactive relief for those harmed by cannabis criminalization." That night Supernova Women and Cannademix are hosting an after-party.
8. Shakedown on Main Street
Date: 4/20
Location: Blue Point Brewing, Patchogue, NY
Headliners: Shaggy, B.o.B, Shwayze
The popular Long Island, NY beer company hosts this multi-stage event at their home base in Patchogue, which is just west of the Hamptons. Tickets range from $97.95-$187.46.
7. The Big Lebowski screenings
Dates: 4/20-/21
The Coen Brothers' 1998 classsic stoner flick is the main choice for movie fans on the 4/20 holiday. Screenings are taking place at:
• Das Bevo: St. Louis, MO; 4/20, 7 pm
• Naro Expanded Cinema: Norfolk, VA; 4/20, 8 pm
• Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas: nationwide, 4/21
6. 420 NYC
Date: 4/20
Location: Washington Square Park, New York, NY
420 NYC is one of the largest free 4/20 events in the country. It started three years ago after legalization was passed in New York State. Thousands of stoners visit the Greenwich Villlage park throughout the day. Vendors set up tables and musicians offer some tunes.
5. Mile High 420 Festival
Date: 4/20
Location: Civic Center Park, Denver, CO
Headliners: Gucci Mane, Afroman
Now that San Franscisco canceled 420 Hippie Hill, Denver's long-running Mile High 420 Fest is the largest free 4/20 event in the country. VIP tickets cost $175.
4. We Legalized It 2024
Date: 4/19
Location: Brooklyn Steel, Brooklyn, NY
Headliners: Cypress Hill, The Pharcyde
It's fair to say Cypress Hill have made a large contribution to the legalization cause with their songs, smoky stage act and political commentaries. The tour kicks off in Boston on 4/18, heads to New York on 4/19 and then to Atlantic City on 4/20.
3. Method Man & Redman
Date: 4/19
Location: Terminal 5, New York, NY
Headliners: Method Man & Redman, Styles P
The Method Man & Redman duo are probably the most popular 4/20 act. They used to play every year in Colorado, but now New York has beckoned. They may never go back.
2. Phish
Dates: 4/18-21
Location: Sphere, Las Vegas, NV
The new circular-shaped concert venue in Vegas has so far only been home to a U2 residency. Starting on 4/18, Phish will become the second band to perform there. The stunning visuals will compliment Phish's psychedelic themes in a 4/20 Week spectacle for the ages.
1. National Cannabis Festival
Dates: 4/20-21
Location: RFK Campus, Washington, DC
Headliners: Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Devin the Dude
Now in its eighth year, this DC event is a hub for all things cannabis with a distinct focus on equity and criminal-justice reform. Events take place all week long leading up to the two-day fest and Wu-Tang's 4/20 finale.
