Jam-band photographer Michael Weintrob had a great idea in 2000: shoot musicians with instruments blocking their faces. What started with guitarist Derek Trucks expanded to 500 musicians posing for Weintrob's camera. The hefty oversized hardcover Instrumenthead came out in 2017.
While all the subjects were identified in the book, now Weintrob is disclosing them with before and after images for the sequel, Instrumenthead Revealed.
Here's former Bob Marley bassist and Wailers band leader Aston "Family Man" Barrett...
Weintrob tells CelebStoner: "I love to break down walls with my photography. Being able to show this work is really special because in a sense we're unmasking the original photos. It’s symbolic: We're all come out of the pandemic and the world is opening up again."
To raise funds for the followup, Weintrob has booked a month-long slate of live shows streaming at Instrumenthead Live. Please make a donation to this project at IndieGoGo. Three dollars from every book sold will go to the the New Orleans Musicians Clinic.
