It's bad news for Malaysia these days. First the disappearance of Flight 370 and now six people reportedly died from meth overdoses at the Future Music Festival Asia at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, causing the third and final day to be canceled on Sunday.
It's unclear if it was meth or another drug in pill form that caused the deaths of the six concertgoers, aged 22 to 28, on Mar. 14. According to media accounts, they all suffocated. Two other men are in critical condition.
In a statement issued on Mar. 16, organizers said. "We are extremely devastated that circumstances such as these occurred despite the significant planning and resources in place."
Pharrell Williams was among the musicians who were scheduled to perform Sunday. In the previous two days, the EDM fest's headliners included Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wu-Tang Clan, deadmaus5 and Armin van Buuren.
