The East Coast's answer to Seattle Hempest, Boston Freedom Rally remains the largest marijuana festival this side of Washington State. Over two days this weekend, bands and speakers appeared on two stages in Boston Common, plus there was a large vendor village.
The weather cooperated on Sunday after late showers shortened Saturday's festivities. Though few of the bands are well known outside of the Boston area, they were all routinely solid, including Build a Machine, who closed their Sunday set with a version of "Who's Got the Herb"; Gorilla Finger Dub Band; Moxa; Sweatshop; and TigerMan WOAH.
In Massachusetts, marijuana is both decriminalized and medicalized. However, dispensaries have yet to open in the Bay State. No arrests were made at the rally, which was organized by Mass Cann/NORML
