Method Man and Redman love 4/20. They regularly perform in Colorado on the high holiday. This year they'll be back at Red Rocks Park & Amphetheatre in Morrison "420 on the Rocks" with Ice Cube and Action Bronson.
Two days earlier, they're headling the National Cannabis Festival at RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, DC. Young M.A., Antibalas, Backyard Band and the Archives are also on the bill.
Of course, the stony duo appeared together in How High.
Also, already booked for 4/20 week is the Sweetwater 420 Fest at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic park on April 24-26. The lineup includes Trey Anastasio Band, Oysterhead, Cage the Elephant, JRAD, Toots & the Maytals, Lettuce, Lake Street Drive, the Revivalists, Dr. Dog, Collie Buddz, the Marcus King Band, Twiddle and more.
The lineup has yet to be announced for the Mile High 420 Festival in Denver's Civic Center Park on April 20.
While 420 started in California, it was adopted in Colorado before legalization in 2012. For many years prior to that University of Colorado at Boulder students would gather on the Norlin Quad at 4:20 pm on 4/20 for a giant smokeout. Ironically, once the state legalized marijuana, the school officially banned the event. Too bad, because it was a blast.
However, that tradition continues at Hippie Hill in San Francisco's Golden Gate and in many other cities internationally on 4/20.
We'll keep posting 4/20/20 week events when they're announced.
