Distinctions: Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 as a member of Cream, he was a founding member of the British power trio along with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce who recorded just four albums from 1966-1969. Clapton and Baker left to form the super group Blind Faith with Steve Winwood. He moved to Africa and performed with Fela Kuti in his band Airforce and later joined such groups as Hawkind and Masters of Reality. Known for his polyrhtymic playing, Baker's lengthy solos, such as on Cream's "Toad," were always a highlight whomever he played with. He was the subject of the Jay Bulger's 2012 documentary Beware of Mr. Baker.
