• Rudy Salas - Dec. 29; co-founder/guitarist of Los Angeles band Tierra who had a No. 18 hit with "Together" in 1981 (watch below); cause undisclosed; was 72.
• Jorge Santana - May 14; younger brother of Carlos and guitarist with Malo who had an No. 18 hit with "Suavecito" (watch below) in 1972; cause undisclosed; was 68.
• Adam Schlesinger - Apr. 1; co-founder of New Jersey alt-rock band Fountains of Wayne, who had a No. 21 hit with "Stacey's Mom" in 2003; received numerous award nominations, including Oscar and Golden Globe recogitiion in 1997 for the title song of That Thing You Do, which he wrote and performed as The Wonders; had COVID-19; was 52.
• Florian Schneider - May 5; the keyboard player co-founded the influential German dance-rock group Kraftwerk in 1970 with Ralf Hutter; they had hits with "Autobahn" (No. 25, 1973, watch below) and "Trans Europe Express" (No. 67, 1977) and recorded 10 albums from 1972-2003; he left the group in 2010; suffered from cancer; was 71.
• Justin "J" Scott (a.k.a. A$AP Snacks) - Feb. 1; DJ with A$AP Rocky and part of the the A$AP Mob; the cause and his age are unknown.
• Matthew Seligman - Apr. 17; journeyman British bassist played with the Thompson Twins, the Soft Boys, Davis Bowie, Thomas Dolby and others; he's on Dolby' "She Blinded Me with Science" (No. 5. 1983, watch below); contracted the cornonavirus; was 64.
• Joseph Shabalala - Feb. 11; founder and musical director of South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who won five Grammy awards; they also appeared on Paul Simon's Graceland in 1986; cause undisclosed; was 78.
• Mohammed-Reza Shajarian - Oct. 8; Iranian-born singer and humanitarian; suffered from kidney cancer; was 80.
