Buju Banton - Upside Down

His first album since spending seven years in U.S. prison on a coke conviction earns this Grammy nom. Banton's last album Before the Dawn won a Grammy in 2010. He has six noms.

 

Skip Marley - Higher Place

Bob and Rita's grandson and Cedella's son received noms for his debut EP and Best R&B Song for "Slow Down" featuring H.E.R. Marley also appears on The Wailers' album (see below).

 

Maxi Priest - It All Comes Back to Love

His first album in five years (it's produced by Shaggy) earns a Grammy nom. Priest's albums in 1993 and 1996 were also nominated. His real name is Max Elliot.

 

√ Toots & the Maytals - Got to Be Tough

Sadly, Toots Hibbert died on September 11 from Covid-19 just two weeks after this album was released. He won a Grammy for True Love in 2004 and has five other noms. He's a shoo-in to earn his second, albeit posthumously.

 

The Wailers - One World

Bob Marley's former band gets an assist from Skip Marley, Cedella Marley and Shaggy on their first Grammy-nominated album.
