Hannah, Lena Dunham's character on Girls, did coke in a Season 2 episode. Just the week before it aired on HBO, Dunham chastised Rihanna for getting "back together with Chris Brown and (posting) a million photos of them smoking marijuana together on a bed. It cracks my heart in half in a way that make me feel like I'm 95 years old."
In the episode, "Bad Friend," Hannah is given an assignment to snort cocaine and write about it. "I've never done it before because I have weird nasal passages," she tells her editor. Hannah visits her junkie neighbor Laird (Jon Glaser), who comes through.
"I'm so jazzed to write the fuck out of this story," she tells BF Elijah (Andrew Rannells) before embarking on her maiden coke voyage. The music speeds up and the pace gets jittery as they inhale a few lines and head out for a night of clubbing. They keep going to the bathroom, then back to the dance floor and so on until Elijah confesses he fucked Hannah's former roommate Marnie (Allison Williams). Bummer! Hannah's coke high screeches to a halt as she has a jealous fit. "You ruined my relationship with cocaine, which could have been my favorite drug," she admonishes Elijah.
They run into Laird in a drugstore (he's following her), then Hannah finds and confronts Marnie (i.e. bad friend). In typically unpredictable Girls style, Hannah kisses Laird as the episode ends and the credits roll to Grouplove's "Everyone's Gonna Get High."
A pissed-off Laird returns for a scene in the Season 2 finale.
