Tommy Chong plays the character Yax in Zootopia, the No. 1 movie in America, which opened Friday. In the trailer, Yax says to a giraffe in Chong's slurred stoner voice, "For sure, we're in the naturalist's club."
Zootopia is a Disney movie, which makes Chong's inclusion something of a breakthrough. It's a about a city that's inhabited by all kinds of wild animals.
Late in the animated film, during a press conference with Judy Hopps (Gennifer Goodwin), a pot leaf is seen attached to one of the microphones.
Other characters in the movie are voiced by Jason Bateman, Kristin Bell, Jenny Slate, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer and "Tiny" Lister.
