'How High 3' Starring Method Man and Redman in the Works

Method Man and Redman in "How High" in 2001

Method Man and Redman have been dying to appear in a sequel to How High ever since it was released in 2001. Directed by Jesse Dylan, we rate it the No. 9 stoner movie of all time.

With the formation of the productiuon company Six AM with Shauna Garr, Method Man now has a path to the sequel. According to Variety, "Their first project, How High 3, recently sold to Universal 1440."

The original movie is set at Harvard, where Silas (Meth) and Jamal (Red) matriculate with the help of a particularly educational strain of homegrown cannabis.

MTV Films' How High 2 (2019) stars Lil Yachty and DC Young Fly as Atlanta stoners.

Now both in their 50s, Method Man and Redman would have to be teachers if they return to Harvard. Maybe they'll head up the new Department of Cannabis Studies. The release date will likely be in 2022.

Method Man launched his cannabis brand Tical Official in 2020.

He's also appeared in Shaft, Garden State and The Wackness and a number of TV series, including The Last O.G. and The Deuce.

Only three other stoner movies have had two sequels:

Up in Smoke (1978) was folllowed by Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980) and Nice Dreeams (1982).

Friday (1995) was followed by Next Friday (1998) and Friday After Next (2002). A fourth movie in the series, Last Friday, is expected to be released later this year.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) was followd by Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008) and A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011).
