Yet another UFC fighter is being punished for his marijuana use. After testing positive for pot, Pat Healy has been stripped of a victory, suspended and denied $135,000 in bonuses.
Healy defeated Jim Miller on Apr. 27 in Newark, New Jersey during the UFC 159 program. But that has been changed to a no-contest because THC was found in his system. The New Jersey Athletic Control Board suspended Healy for three months on May 15.. The UFC has yet to rule on Healy's transgression.
The 155-pound lightweight out of Portland, Oregon apologized for his actions: "I made a very poor choice to socially use marijuana and now I must face the consequences of that choice. I can assure you that I will do everything the UFC and State Commission asks of me and beyond. I will also make a conscious effort to be a better role model within the MMA community.”
Healy has a record of 31-15-1.
