When in Humboldt Country, you grow marijuana. That's apparently what Matt Nutter was doing when police raided his Blue Lake property on Monday. Nutter manages the county's baseball team, the Crabs.
Humboldt County authorities found a total of 265 pot plants. Nutter was charged with marijuana cultivation, maintaining a residence where marijuana is grown and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He's currently in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on $75,000 bail.
Nutter has coached the Crabs for the last six years. The team is currently in first place in the semi-pro Horiozon Air League with a 28-12 record.
