Jason Snelling was busted for marijuana possession by Georgia police Friday morning. Stopped for erratic driving at 4:20 am on W. May St. in Winder, the fullback allegedly admitted to smoking pot earlier in the night. Police found a grinder on board.
They also say Snelling attempted to eat some of the evidence. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related materials (the grinder), failure to maintain lane, failure to maintain insurance, expired or no driver license, no registration, and improper use of a dealer license plate, and taken to Barrow Country Jail, where he made bail. Winder is about a hour northeast of Atlanta. Snelling lives 18 miles west of Winder in Lawrenceville.
The seventh-year running back out of the University of Virginia has played sparingly this year, gaining just 159 yards on 36 carries. His best season was in 2009 when he rushed for 613 yards and four TDs.
Snelling has had several previous vehicle arrests.
He's the eight NFL player to be arrested for marijuana this year (and the second this week). The others are: Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs), Nigel Bradham (Bills), Claude Davis (Jets), Mike Goodson (Jets), Cliff Harris (Jets), Aldon Smith (49ers) and J'Marcus Webb (Bears).
