Like great grandfather, like great grandson. On June 30, the NFL announced the one-year suspension of Ravens tight end Darren Waller for violating the league's substance abuse policy after testing positive for marijuana. It's his second suspension in the last two years.
Waller was drafted by Baltimore in the sixth round in in 2015. In his two years with the Ravens, he's only had 12 receptions and two touchdowns. Waller will be docked his $642,774 annual salary.
His great-grandfather, Thomas "Fats" Waller, born in 1903, recorded several marijuana-themed songs, including "Viper's Drag" in 1934 and "The Reefer Song" in 1943.
