Tyreke Evans was the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft. Selected by Sacramento, the 6-foot-6 guard out of Memphis had a breakout first season, averaging 20 points per game and winning the 2010 Rookie of the Year award.
Evans has averaged 15.7 ppg during his 11-year NBA career, but he hasn't played a game since 2019 when the NBA banned him for two years for violating the league's anti-drug program while with the Pacers. Evans was cited for an unnamed drug of abuse, not a PED. Such drugs include cocaine, meth, heroin and other non-prescribed opioids.

Now that Evans has been reinstated, he's looking for work as a unrestricted free agent, trying out for the Bucks and Warriors, both playoffs-bound teams.
Other players to receive similar drug bans include O.J. Mayo, Roy Tarpley and Micheal Ray Richardson.
The NBA stopped testing players to detect THC in 2020.
