With Snoop and Sha'Carri, 2024 Paris Olympics Has Distinct Stony Flavor

Snoop Dogg has been the talk of the 2024 Summer Games so far. Hired by NBC to comment and schnooze, the West Coast rapper walked through the streets of Paris holding the torch on July 26. Many joked Snoop would like to to use it to light a blunt.

He's been seen with various U.S.A. teams and does nightly reports with Mike Tirico.

The New York Times called Snoop "the new voice of the people," adding:

It’s the latest chapter of Snoop Dogg’s three-decade ascent: Starting as a profane, marijuana-loving musician, he has also become a versatile, jovial, marijuana-loving mainstream personality, a ubiquitous pitchman, actor, philanthropist and entrepreneur.

Meanwhile, thew world waits for sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson to make her Olympics debut. Banned from performing in 2001 due to failing a drug test for THC, Richardson has apparently cleaned up her act. She's scheduled to compete in the 100-meter dash on August 2-3 and might also run in a relay. Read about her road to the 2024 Olympics here.

Like Snoop Dogg, Richardson's cannabis use is now accepted by mainstream audiences. She's currently appearing in an Olay campaign.
