It was a big year for Pablo Escobar, who was portrayed on Netflix by Wagner Moura in Narcos and on the big screen by Benicio Del Toro in Andrea Di Stefano's indie film. The latter depicts the Medellin cartel head with a mix of kindness and madness; one minute he's playing with his kids, the next he's ordering the murder of the country's Justice Minister. However, the movie gets bogged down in the main plot: A Canadian surfer (Josh Hutcherson) falls in love with Escobar's niece (Claudia Traisic) and soon gets involved in the family business. It's a fictional story that's not very credible, but does has have some suspense, especially in the third act when Nick's sent on a dangerous mission. Watch the trailer here.
