11. Rock the Kasbah
Bill Murray is front and center in Barry Levinson's critically panned comedy set in Afghanistan. As small-time Los Angeles music industry manager Richie Lanz, Murray eats up the mountainous scenery from start to finish. Deposited in Kabul with his client (Zoey Deschanel), Lanz soon finds himself alone among mercenaries and Pashtuns. But in a moment of kismet, he hears an enchanting voice singing in a cave. Salima (Leem Lubany) wants to compete on the reality show, "Afghan Star," but her strict religion forbids it. Richie's not one to take no for an answer and escorts Salima to the Kabul studio where she shocks the nation with her rendition of "Peace Train." Murray, as he often does in movies, smokes a joint in a wild scene with the mercenaries played by Danny McBride and Scott Caan. Watch the trailer here.
