In celebration of the Sept. 20 Blu-ray and DVD release of Zac Efron and our favorite CelebStoner Seth Rogen’s laugh-out-loud comedy, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, we gave away Neighbors 2 swag (see below).
Plus, here’s a Top 5 list of movies that are best watch stoned.
Friday (1995)
Smokey (Chris Tucker) gets into trouble when he fails to pay his pot dealer. As Smokey and his best friend Craig (Ice Cube) toke up the stash, they figure out a way to deal with Debo (Tiny Lister). Hard lessons are learned amidst much laughter in this first of three Friday movies, directed by Gary Gray.
Half Baked (1998)
This tale of three friends who decide to sell medical marijuana in order to spring their buddy from jail stars Dave Chappelle, Jim Breuer, Guillermo Diaz and Harlan Williams. Co-written by Chappelle and directed by Tamara Davis, Half Baked is also a rom-com, with Thurgood (Chappelle) wooing Mary Jane (Rachel True). But she’s as straight and he is stoned, setting up the film’s ultimate conflict.
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Jeff Bridges’ “The Dude” is one of Hollywood’s most iconic characters. A modern-day slacker, The Dude smokes pot and drinks White Russians while contemplating the world until he’s drawn into a wild mistaken-identity caper, courtesy of the Coen Brothers, who directed this stoner-film masterpiece.
Pineapple Express (2008)
Dale (Seth Rogen) and his marijuana dealer Saul (James Franco) are on the run when a drug lord and a corrupt police officer find out they’re witnesses to a rival’s murder. Although Dale and Saul don’t get along at first, over time they realize how much they need each other—and their weed—to survive in this action stoner comedy directed by David Gordon Green.
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016)
The sequel to 2014’s Neighbors, 2016’s Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising flips the script and features a sorority instead of a frat. Life has calmed down for Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne); a second baby is on the way and they’re about to buy a new home ands sell the one they’re currently occupying when a hard-partying sorority, led by Shelby (Chloë Grace Moretz), moves in next door. Mac and Kelly team up with their ex-neighbor Teddy (Zac Efron) to defeat the ladies of Kappa Nu. It’s parenthood vs. sisterhood in Nicholas Stoller’s raucous stoner comedy.
CelebStoner gave away prizes to two lucky winners: Clif Deuvall of Waco, TX received the Blu-ray combo pack of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (includes Blu-ray disc with digital HD code, plus the DVD) and Sheila Cohen of Columbia, MD received one drawstring Neighbors 2 carry bag and one Neighbors 2 T-shirt.
