It's only taken 16 years for the sequel to Super Troopers to be announced. The Broken Lizard guys will indeed return for another anarchic take on Vermont cops, come 4/20/18, of course.
For those who don't remember the 2001 original, it stars Jay Chandrasekhar (Thorny), Steve Lemme (Mac), Erik Stolhanske (Rabbit), Kevin Heffernan (Farva) and Paul Sloter (Foster) as stony state troopers who like to play games with perps and mess with local cops. Chandasekhar will direct again; since then he's helmed Club Dread (2004), The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Beerfest (2006), The Babymakers (2012) and numerous TV show episodes.
Also in the Super Troopers 2 cast: Rob Lowe, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Lynda Carter, Brian Cox, Tyler Labine and Will Sasso.
Super Troopers was named Best Stoner Movie at the 2003 Stony Awards.
