Twenty-nine years after Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey - the sequel to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989 - the dudes are back in Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Starring Keanu Reeves as Ted and Alex Winter as Bill, this second sequel, directed by Dean Parasot, also features Kid Cudi, Dave Grohl, Kristen Schaal, Jillian Bell and George Carlin (he returns as Rufus in a hologram).
According to Wikipedia, this is the film's premise:
Now enduring the monotony of middle-aged life, William S. "Bill" Preston, Esq. and Theodore "Ted" Logan are warned by a visitor from the future of the need for them to create a song in 78 minutes that will save all life on Earth and the entire universe. The pair work with their families, old friends, famous musicians and each other to complete the task.
Whoa!
While Reeves went on to a big acting career, appearing in the John Wick and Matrix franchises as well as Speed and My Own Private Idaho, Winter had little success as an actor and became a documentary filmmaker instead. His film Zappa, about Frank Zappa, is scheduled for a November 27 release.
Bill & Ted Face the Music will be available On Demand and in some theaters on August 28.
